Relates to the employment of retired police officers as special security officers by school districts.
Relates to the use of oral medications by optometrists.
Directs the commissioner of education to establish and implement a museum education grant program to provide state aid to museums, historical societies, nature centers, zoos, botanical gardens, arboretums, aquariums and cultural organizations to establish education programs for elementary and secondary school students, and for those participating in continuing education in low-income urban, suburban or rural communities.
Establishes the New York state interagency coordinating council for service-disabled veterans; defines the powers and duties of the council and requires an annual report by the council to the governor, the temporary president of the senate and the speaker of the assembly.
Relates to diagnosis, care and treatment of injured employees by certified nurse practitioners.
Relates to the payment of salaries for certain district attorneys; requires the state to provide state aid to pay such salaries; and appropriates $1,600,000 therefor.
Requires immediate notification by law enforcement of an employee's arrest involving allegations of a sex offense; provides that no cause of action against law enforcement or school district shall exist for damages related to the dissemination of criminal history or arrest records.
Establishes a court-appointed special advocates program to aid family court efforts to promote the health, safety and well-being of children; provides aid to non-profit programs which provide assistance to family courts.
Requires child day care centers, public institutions for children and certain other facilities installing new or replacement window coverings on or after October 1, 2017, to install safer window coverings; requires child day care centers, public institutions for children and certain other facilities that have window coverings in place before October 1, 2017, to meet minimum safety standards established by ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2012.
