RELATING TO LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES.

Requires long-term care facilities to continue providing care for individuals after they receive acute medical care from a hospital. Requires a long-term care facility that provides care to an individual who leaves the facility to receive acute medical services at a hospital to readmit and continue providing care for the individual. Requires an individual who is receiving care in a hospital and is recommended by the hospital for transfer to a licensed long-term care facility for continued care to transfer to only that long-term care facility recommended by the hospital.

RELATING TO HOMELESSNESS.

Appropriates funds to DHS and DOH to continue to administer programs for individuals or families who require assistance to avoid or escape homelessness including outreach, Rapid Rehousing, Housing First, Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion, and the Family Assessment Center on Oahu. Appropriates funds to HPHA for public housing improvements and renovations statewide and a pilot program for the State Rent Supplement Program.

RELATING TO THE LANDLORD-TENANT CODE.

In a summary possession proceeding brought by a landlord against a holdover tenant: requires the court to address the complaint for summary possession during the first court appearance of the parties; prohibits a writ of possession from allowing the tenant more than fifteen days to vacate the premises; and specifies that the court shall expedite the proceeding so that the landlord is not unduly prejudiced by the delay.

RELATING TO PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS.

Exempts prescriptions for opioid dependency treatment medications from any copayment or coinsurance provisions that may apply in a policy, plan, contract, or agreement that offers prescription drug coverage.
