This measure would, among other things, recognize the serious and urgent threat maladaptation poses to the success and cost effectiveness of the state's climate resilience actions.
This measure would urge the United States Congress and the President of the United States to fully fund the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Comprehensive Infrastructure Solution for the Tijuana River due to the ongoing impacts on public health, the environment, and the local economy caused by transboundary flow pollution. The measure would urge the United States Congress and the President of the United States to take additional specified actions to address ongoing transboundary flow pollution.
Existing law establishes the Student Aid Commission as the primary state agency for the administration of state-authorized student financial aid programs available to students attending all segments of postsecondary education. Existing law, the Cal Grant Program, establishes the Cal Grant A Entitlement Awards, the Cal Grant B Entitlement Awards, the California Community College Expanded Entitlement Awards, the California Community College Transfer Entitlement Awards, the Competitive Cal Grant A and B Awards, the Cal Grant C Awards, and the Cal Grant T Awards under the administration of the commission. Existing law also establishes the Middle Class Scholarship Program under the commission's administration. Existing law establishes eligibility requirements for awards under these programs for participating students attending qualifying institutions. The eligibility requirements under these programs and other financial aid programs administered by the commission include meeting various application deadlines. Existing law requires the commission to grant a postponement of an application deadline of up to 30 calendar days for any financial aid program administered by the commission pursuant to a formal request, as provided. Existing law authorizes the commission to grant a postponement of an application deadline of up to an additional 30 calendar days, without submission of a formal request, if the commission finds that a state of emergency declared by the Governor or the President of the United States has occurred. This bill would additionally authorize the commission to grant the above-described postponement of an application deadline without submission of a formal request if the commission finds that there was a delay in the opening of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, as declared by the commission.
Existing law establishes the California-Mexico Border Relations Council in state government, and prescribes the membership and functions and duties of the council with respect to coordinating the activities of state agencies that are related to cross-border programs, initiatives, projects, and partnerships that exist within state agencies, to improve the effectiveness of state and local efforts that are of concern between California and Mexico. This bill would authorize the Speaker of the Assembly to appoint a Member of the Assembly and the President pro Tempore to appoint a Member of the Senate who each represent a district that shares a border with Mexico to the council to serve as an ex officio, nonvoting member, as specified.
This measure would recognize June 14, 2025, as Flag Day in California and encourage the citizens of the state to celebrate the symbol of our freedom and remember the hard work and sacrifices that so many made to ensure that freedom.

Trump and the Congress of the United States to approve federal legislation guaranteeing specified rights to classified workers that would, among other things, empower those workers to work in a stable, safe environment and receive livable and competitive wages, as provided.

This measure would proclaim the month of May 2025 as Drowning Awareness and Prevention Month in California and recognize Nadina Riggsbee, her daughter, Samira, and her son, JJ, in honor of Ms. Riggsbee's retirement from her position as the President and Founder of the Drowning Prevention Foundation.
This measure would call on the President of the United States to honor his promise to save American lives and communities through forest management and wildfire risk reduction projects, would request that he veto any legislation that defunds the United States Forest Service and work with Congress to protect and improve these programs, and would call for related congressional action.
This measure would applaud the California Girl Scout Councils for 113 years of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place, and recognize March 12, 2025, as Girl Scout Day in California.
