Provides that New York city correction officers may file for disability without 10 years of service.
Provides that every person convicted within a twelve month period, or found to have violated any combination of three of the following offenses: disobeying traffic-control signal indications pursuant to section 1111 of this chapter, speeding more than ten miles per hour over the speed limit pursuant to subparagraph (ii) of paragraph one of subdivision (h) of section 1180 of this chapter, participating in a race or unauthorized speed contest pursuant to section 1182 of this chapter, overtaking a school bus pursuant to section 1174 of this chapter, reckless driving pursuant to section 1212 of this chapter, and operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone pursuant to section 1225-c of this chapter or operating a motor vehicle while using a portable electronic device pursuant to section 1225-d of this chapter, shall be punished by a suspension of driving privileges entirely for at least one year.
Relates to the commissioner's duty to ensure employers inform employees about non-disclosure or non-disparagement provisions in employment contracts.
Eliminates provisions exempting employees with disabilities from the minimum wage law; provides that laws or minimum wage orders that authorize an employer to pay a wage that is less than the minimum wage are valid provided that under such laws or orders an employee with a disability is paid the same wage as an employee in a comparable position that does not have a disability.
Relates to the manufacture, assembly, possession, license and disposal of ghost guns, the establishment of the offense of unlawful dissemination of instructions for the assembly of a weapon and the sentencing for certain offenses regarding ghost guns; relates to the suspension and revocation of certain licenses or registrations; adds the offense of unlawful dissemination of instructions for the assembly of a weapon to the list of designated offenses for the purpose of obtaining eavesdropping and video surveillance warrants; and includes the offense of unlawful dissemination of instructions for the assembly of a weapon in the definition of violent or serious crime.
Provides alternative death benefits for certain members of the state retirement system employed by Nassau, Suffolk or Westchester county in certain law enforcement and corrections positions who are entitled to service retirement at the time of their death.
Requires registration of new automotive broker businesses; enacts various provisions relating to conduct of such businesses; defines certain deceptive practices; establishes rights of action and penalties.
Relates to standing for persons affected by prohibited or unlawful business practices and expands prohibited acts to include unfair, deceptive or abusive acts.
Permits any title insurance corporation or title insurance agent, or any other person acting for or on behalf of the title insurance corporation or title insurance agent, from undertaking any usual and customary marketing activity aimed at acquainting present and prospective customers with the advantages of using a particular title insurer or title insurance agent that are not intended for the purpose of a reward for the future placement of, or the past placement, of a particular piece of title insurance business; lays out such permitted practices.
