Amends the Community Support Systems Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
Amends the Illinois Insurance Code in the provision concerning a mutual company's conversion to a stock company. Provides that the mutual company's meeting to vote upon the plan of conversion shall not be set for a date less than 30 days (rather than 60 days) after the date when the notice of the meeting is mailed by the mutual company. Makes a technical correction. Effective immediately.
Amends the Illinois Insurance Code to provide that a public adjuster may not charge, agree to, or accept any compensation, payment, commissions, fee, or other valuable consideration in excess of 10% of the amount of the insurance settlement claim paid by the insurer.
Amends the Commission to End the Disparities Facing the African-American Community Act. Provides that the Commission shall submit its findings and specific recommendations to the General Assembly on or before December 31, 2015 (now December 31, 2013). Extends the date of repeal to July 1, 2016 (now July 1, 2014). Effective immediately.
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Removes the July 1, 2015 repeal date for the Section requiring traffic stop statistical study. Effective immediately.
Amends the Supreme Court Historic Preservation Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning piercing the body of a minor.
Mourns the death of poet Maya Angelou.
Designates the date of May 7, 2014 as "Moms on a Mission Day" in the State of Illinois.
Congratulates the Morgan Park High School boys basketball team on winning the 2014 Class 3A State championship.
