Amends the Unemployment Insurance Act. Provides that none of the amount received by an individual as primary social security old age and disability retirement benefits shall constitute disqualifying income.
Asks that universities be fiscally conservative now and set an example consistent with the business world by either eliminating sabbaticals or sharply cutting them back.
Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that no person who has successfully exercised a penalty bid may charge any amount in interest, penalties, and fees combined upon the delinquent property owner that exceeds 18% per annum. Effective immediately.
Urges Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, to apologize to all veterans for alleging that those who serve our country are one of the greatest risks of extremism and urges her to resign in recognition of her actions.
Urges Congress to maintain its restrictions on the transfer of detainees from the U.S. Naval Station in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as reflected in legislation passed by the 111th Congress, and to refrain from taking actions that could be interpreted as granting constitutional rights to non-citizen detainees whose only access to rights would be derived from a claim of sovereignty based on their transfer to a facility or facilities in the United States.
