Amends statutory limitations on the time period in which a survivor of childhood sexual abuse may file a civil suit. Permits the court to order restorative justice measures, if deemed appropriate and requested by the victim. (SD1)
Requires Department of Education school football programs to ensure that each non-new football and privately purchased football helmet and other safety equipment used in a football program is reconditioned and recertified at least once every two years. (SD1)
Increases the percentage of the land conservation fund that may be used for costs related to the operation, maintenance, and management of lands acquired by the fund. Increases the maximum dollar amount of the conveyance tax distribution to the land conservation fund. Appropriates funds from the land conservation fund for resource land acquisition. Increases the minimum and potential maximum fine for violating Hawaii Revised Statutes sections 291-22, 291-24, and 291-24.5, which prohibit the installation and sale of noisy mufflers.
Establishes procedures for the identification and designation of important housing lands. Defines important housing lands as public lands owned by the State that are located within 1.0 mile of any rail mass transit station and needed to promote the development of homes priced below market rates for Hawaii residents who are owner-occupants and own no other real property. Requires the State and counties to identify and designate important housing lands. Appropriates funds. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD2)
Prohibits roofing contractors from offering to pay, in any monetary form, an insured's insurance deductible as an incentive to encourage the insured to hire the contractor. Allows insureds to rescind contracts with roofing contractors within five business days of receiving notification from an insurer that all or any part of a claim or contract is not a covered loss under the insured's insurance policy. Allows the Contractors License Board to revoke, suspend, or refuse to renew a contractor's license if the contractor performs as a public adjuster without a public adjuster license. (SD2)
