Appropriates funds to the department of human services to create one full-time program specialist position within the adult protective and community services branch to oversee the foster grandparent program and senior companion programs in Maui county.
Allows the family court to award a grandparent, upon petition to the court, custody or visitation if it is in the best interest of the child and denial of such custody or visitation would cause significant harm to the child.
Converts the long-term care community living program specialist position within the executive office on aging from exempt to permanent civil service status.
Requires the department of health to create and maintain an online information portal making available to the public by January 1, 2018, the information published annually in the Healthcare-Associated Infections in Hawaii report. Requires the department to update the portal annually.
Permits the installation of clotheslines in any residential dwelling, apartment, condominium, or townhouse, under certain conditions. Defines a reasonable restriction on the placement and use of clotheslines as any restriction that is necessary to protect public health and safety, buildings from damage, historic or aesthetic values, or shorelines under certain circumstances.
Appropriates funds to DOE to support the Turnaround Arts program in Hawaii in partnership with Hawaii Arts Alliance.
