Insurance; Requiring the Department of Financial Services to take immediate enforcement actions under certain circumstances; requiring certain adjusters to complete specified continuing education courses annually; specifying requirements for such courses; revising the grounds for compulsory disciplinary actions by the department against certain insurance personnel; prohibiting insurers from excluding the public adjuster’s attorney from certain in-person meetings; requiring insurers to promptly provided third-party claimants with specified payments or assistance under certain circumstances, etc.
Reproductive Freedom; Creating the “Reproductive Freedom Act”; establishing the fundamental right to reproductive health care; providing that every individual has a fundamental right to make autonomous decisions about the individual’s own reproductive health; prohibiting the state from denying or interfering with an individual’s right to access reproductive health care; prohibiting such state and local entities from penalizing, prosecuting, or otherwise taking adverse action against an individual for exercising specified rights, or against an individual for assisting another in exercising such rights, etc.
Insurance Regulation; Making clarifying changes regarding the definition of residential coverage; prohibiting insurers from imposing or enforcing certain policy conditions or requirements; revising the conditions under which liability insurers may deny coverage based on a particular coverage defense; revising the timeframe in which insurers must pay or deny claims, etc.
Insurance Coverage for Breast Cancer Screening; Requiring that certain health insurance policies issued, amended, delivered, or renewed on or after a specified date provide specified minimum coverage for breast cancer screening and diagnosis; requiring that certain health insurance policies issued, amended, delivered, or renewed on or after a specified date provide specified minimum coverage for breast cancer screening and diagnosis; requiring that certain health benefit plans issued on or after a specified date provide specified minimum coverage for breast cancer screening and diagnosis; requiring that certain health maintenance contracts issued or renewed on or after a specified date provide specified minimum coverage for breast cancer screening and diagnosis, etc.
Florida Commission on Human Relations; Deleting the requirement that the Florida Commission on Human Relations send certain information to certain persons by registered mail, etc.
Booking Officer Duties Related to Minor Children of Arrested Persons; Citing this act as the “Child Protection at Time of Parental Arrest Act”; requiring a booking officer to ask certain questions of arrested persons during the booking process and take certain actions related to the arrested person’s minor children, etc.
Compensation of the Descendants of Charles Greenlee, Walter Irvin, Samuel Shepherd, and Ernest Thomas; Providing that certain facts are found and declared to be true; providing that a sum is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of State for specified relief; requiring that a specified percentage of such relief be provided to certain individuals and estates; providing that specified persons are ineligible for further compensation, etc. APPROPRIATION: $4,000,000
Education; Repealing a provision relating to prohibited training or instruction in specified concepts which constitutes discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, or sex; repealing a provision relating to personal titles and pronouns; deleting a prohibition against classroom instruction, in specified grades, on sexual orientation and gender identity; authorizing and encouraging Florida College System institutions, state universities, and direct-support organizations to develop programs based on diversity, equity, and inclusion principles; authorizing school library media centers to provide materials and information presenting all points of view, etc.
Affordable Housing; Increasing the length of time that certain rental units must remain affordable in order to qualify for a specified zoning variance; requiring that certain incentives be used for the construction of affordable housing; decreasing the maximum median income used to determine eligibility for certain tax incentives; specifying that documentary stamp taxes do not apply to deeds, transfers, or conveyances of residential property to first-time homebuyers, etc.
