Public Records/Parkinson’s Disease Registry; Providing an exemption from public records requirements for certain records and personal identifying information submitted to the Parkinson’s Disease Registry; providing for future legislative review and repeal; providing a statement of public necessity, etc.
Parkinson’s Disease Registry; Requiring physicians, osteopathic physicians, and advanced practice registered nurses, respectively, to report certain information to the Parkinson’s disease registry; providing limited liability for physicians and advanced practice registered nurses under certain circumstances; revising the membership of the Parkinson’s Disease Research Board; requiring the Institute for Parkinson’s Disease at the University of South Florida, subject to appropriation, to establish and maintain a statewide Parkinson’s disease registry for specified purposes, etc.
Affordable Housing; Requiring counties and municipalities, respectively, to authorize certain residential use on property owned by a county, municipality, or school district under certain circumstances; revising the definition of the term “person”; revising a prohibition on discriminatory practices in land use decisions and in permitting of development to include housing that is affordable; waiving the state’s sovereign immunity for certain causes of action based upon housing discrimination, etc.
Insurance Customer Representative Licensing Qualifications; Revising the qualifications for applicants for a license as an insurance customer representative; requiring the Department of Education, in consultation with the Department of Financial Services, to develop a specified insurance and personal finance course no later than a specified date, etc.
School Counselors; Requiring that evaluation criteria for certified school counselors be based on specified standards; providing that persons seeking employment as school counselors are exempt from specified educator certification requirements, etc.
Educator Preparation and Certification; Authorizing an educator preparation institute to allow certain program participants to enroll in introductory coursework; revising the criteria for the award of a temporary educator certification to include certain persons with expired professional certificates; requiring that subject area coverages and endorsements for a certificateholder be reinstated with the certificateholder’s professional certificate; requiring the Florida Center for Teaching Excellence to collaborate with the David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching for specified purposes, etc.
Dry Needling; Defining the terms “dry needling” and “myofascial trigger point”; requiring the Board of Occupational Therapy to establish minimum standards of practice for the performance of dry needling by occupational therapists, including specified standards; requiring the board, if it deems it necessary for patient safety, to adopt additional supervision and training requirements for occupational therapists to perform dry needling on specified areas, etc.
Relief of L.E. by the Department of Children and Families; Providing for the relief of L.E. by the Department of Children and Families; providing an appropriation to compensate L.E. for injuries and damages sustained as a result of the negligence of the department; providing a limitation on compensation and the payment of attorney fees, etc. CLAIM WITH APPROPRIATION: $3,800,000
Taiwan; Expressing appreciation for the sister state relationship and bilateral economic and cultural ties between the State of Florida and Taiwan and encouraging the Governor to lead a trade and economic delegation to Taiwan in 2026, etc.
Veterinary Prescription Disclosure; Requiring a veterinarian or authorized member of veterinary staff to inform a client of the right to receive a written prescription to be filled at a pharmacy of the client’s choice or the option to have the prescription filled at the veterinary establishment; requiring that the disclosure include an acknowledgement signed by the client; providing that such acknowledgement be documented in the patient’s medical records, etc.
