Specific Medical Diagnoses in Child Protective Investigations; Providing an exception to the requirement that the Department of Children and Families immediately forward certain allegations to a law enforcement agency; requiring Child Protection Teams to consult with a licensed physician or advanced practice registered nurse when evaluating certain reports; authorizing, under a certain circumstance, a parent or legal custodian from whom a child was removed to request specified examinations of the child, etc.

Patient-directed Medical Orders; Revising legislative findings and intent to include palliative care for progressive illnesses; providing a purpose and requirements for a patient-directed medical order; requiring that certain health care services be provided to the principal regardless of the decision to withhold or withdraw life-prolonging procedures; authorizing physicians, physician assistants, and certain advanced practice registered nurses to withhold or withdraw life-prolonging procedures under certain circumstances without penalty, etc.

Medicaid Providers; Requiring the Agency for Health Care Administration to include specified requirements in its contracts with Medicaid managed care plans, etc.

Insurance; Specifying that hurricane mitigation grants funded through the My Safe Florida Home Program may be awarded only under certain circumstances; revising the surplus required for certain insurers applying for their original certificates of authority and to maintain their certificates of authority, respectively; specifying prohibitions for persons who were officers or directors of an insolvent insurer, attorneys in fact of a reciprocal insurer, or officers or directors of an attorney in fact of a reciprocal insurer; prohibiting the office from requesting an insurer waive a deemed approval for residential property insurance rate filing under certain circumstances, etc.

Elections; Requiring the Florida Commission on Offender Review to develop and maintain a database for a specified purpose; repealing a provision relating to the Office of Election Crimes and Security; authorizing the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to preregister certain individuals to vote; revising the information a third-party voter registration organization is required to provide to the Division of Elections of the Department of State, etc.

Repair of Motorized Wheelchairs; Creating the “Motorized Wheelchair Right to Repair Act”; requiring an original equipment manufacturer to make available any documentation, parts, and tools required for the diagnosis, maintenance, or repair of a motorized wheelchair and parts for the motorized wheelchair; providing that violation of the act is an unlawful practice under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act; providing that an original equipment manufacturer is not required to divulge trade secrets, etc.

Awareness Program for Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia-related Disorders; Requiring the Department of Elderly Affairs to contract for the development and implementation of the Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Program; requiring the Alzheimer’s Disease Advisory Committee to evaluate the program and make certain recommendations, etc.

Florida Museum of Black History; Providing legislative intent; establishing the Florida Museum of Black History Board of Directors; prohibiting specified members of the board from holding state or local elective office while serving on the board; requiring that the board work jointly with the Foundation for the Museum of Black History, Inc., etc.

Transportation Facility Designations/Harris Rosen Way and Geraldine Thompson Way; Providing honorary designations of certain transportation facilities in a specified county; directing the Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers, etc.

Firefighter Health and Safety; Requiring the Division of State Fire Marshal within the Department of Financial Services to assist in decreasing the frequency and severity of fatalities; authorizing the division to recommend a phased approach in adopting certain rules related to firefighting gear; requiring the division to adopt rules relating to education on chemical hazards and toxic substances in protective gear and employers’ mental health best practices, etc.
