Relative to National Mentoring Month.

This measure would declare that the month of January 2024 be recognized as National Mentoring Month, would thank those who participate in quality mentoring programs, and would call upon residents to help close the gap between the availability of mentors and the number of children facing challenging circumstances, as specified.

Electricity: state policy: renewable resources.

Existing law declares that it is policy of the state and the intent of the Legislature that state and municipal electrical resource acquisition programs recognize and include a value for the resource diversity provided by renewable resources. This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to that declaration.

Relative to Armenian hostages.

This measure would call on the Biden Administration to urge Azerbaijan to immediately return all Armenian hostages, to impose Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act violations on Azerbaijan, to suspend all United States military and economic assistance to Azerbaijan, and to work with the international community to ensure the protection and preservation of Armenian cultural heritage sites. The measure would also support House Resolution 861, which calls on Azerbaijan to immediately release all prisoners of war and captured civilians.
