This measure would proclaim the month of October 2023 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Existing law, the Unclaimed Property Law, provides that all tangible personal property located in the state and all intangible personal property, except property of specified classes, that has remained unclaimed by the owner for specified time periods escheats to the state. Existing law specifies the circumstances under which unclaimed employee benefit plan distributions escheat to the state. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to the provisions governing the escheat of employee benefit plan distributions.
This measure would urge the federal Office of Management and Budget to update its Uniform Guidance in order to improve job creation, quality, and equity.
This measure would recognize the month of January 2024 as National Human Trafficking Awareness Month.
Existing law, the Subdivision Map Act, requires prescribed security from a developer if the act or a local ordinance authorizes or requires the furnishing of security in connection with the performance of any act or agreement, including a requirement that specified forms of security be recorded with the county recorder of the county in which the subject real property is located. Existing law also requires any contract or security interest in real property entered into as security for performance, as described, to be recorded as specified. This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
This measure would designate, in perpetuity, the 4th week of January as Data Privacy Week and the last Sunday of January as Data Privacy Day.
