This measure would proclaim the month of May 2019 as Lyme Disease Awareness Month.

Existing state law sets the standard time for California and sets daylight saving time to begin each March and end each November. Existing law allows the state to set the standard time to year-round daylight saving time if federal law authorizes the state to do so. Existing federal law does not currently allow a state to set its standard time to year-round daylight saving time. This bill would set California's standard time to year-round daylight saving time after the federal government authorizes the state to do so, as specified. This bill would declare that it is to take effect immediately as an urgency statute.

This measure would recognize that hunger is an issue affecting too many Californians and would commend the California citrus industry for its effort to raise awareness about food insecurity by observing May 15, 2019, as Citrus Stride Day at the State Capitol.

This measure would recognize May 2019 as Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage Month.

This measure would proclaim that Friday, May 10, 2019, will be celebrated as the First Transcontinental Railroad's Sesquicentennial Day, and as California Railroad Day.

This measure would recognize May 2019 as Blue Star Mothers of America Month in California, as specified.

This measure would designate the month of May 2019 as California's Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Awareness Month.

This measure would designate the month of May 2019 as Bone Marrow Donation Awareness Month.

This measure would declare May 4, 2019, as Star Wars Day and would recognize the Star Wars franchise upon the celebration of the opening of "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" at the Disneyland Resort.

Existing law establishes the political party organization of the California Republican Party. Existing law authorizes a county central committee of the party to elect a member to the committee to replace a member whose term is expiring at every presidential primary election. Existing law authorizes a county central committee of the party, in accordance with its rules and regulations, to determine the number, the district allocation, and the manner of election of its members at any time by holding a caucus or convention, or by using any other method approved by the committee. Existing law requires the members of a county central committee of the party to assume office and hold their first meeting during the month of December or January following a general election, and provides that a member shall hold office for a 2-year term commencing with that first meeting. Existing law provides that a member of a county central committee of the party may serve after the expiration date of the member's term until the election or selection of the member's replacement. This bill would delete the provisions described above relating to the date on which a committee member assumes office, the date on which a committee is required to hold its first meeting, and the length of a committee member's term of office.
