Requires certain documents and forms to be provided in the twelve most common non-English languages spoken by limited English proficient immigrants of five years or less according to the American community survey, as published by the United States census bureau.
Requires medical assistance coverage for medically tailored meals and medical nutrition therapy for the purpose of disease management.
Requires the department of education to report information regarding counselors, social workers and psychologists in schools and to implement a plan to increase the school counselor, school social worker and school psychologist to student ratio to nationally accepted standards and provide funding for such.
Relates to establishing restrictions on the sale of over-the-counter diet pills and dietary supplements for weight loss or muscle building; prohibits the sale of over-the-counter diet pills or dietary supplements for weight loss or muscle building to people under 18 unless properly prescribed by a health care provider; exempts certain protein powders, protein drinks and foods.
Enacts the local food, farms, and jobs act; relates to the procurement of locally grown farm and food products; creates the New York state council on food policy.
Establishes a procurement goal that at least fifteen percent of all food and food products purchased by state agencies shall be New York state food products in the first and second year after such law takes effect, at least twenty percent in the third year and twenty-five percent thereafter.
Establishes an excluded worker unemployment program and an excluded worker unemployment program fund to provide wage replacement to workers that do not qualify for unemployment insurance or other worker wage assistance programs and who have lost a major source of income due to lost work.
Establishes a toll free confidential hotline for complainants of workplace sexual harassment to be administered by the division of human rights; makes related provisions.
