Memorializing Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim February 13, 2026, as Radio Day in the State of New York

Maddy summaryThis Assembly Resolution (A.942) requests Governor Hochul to officially designate February 13, 2026, as "Radio Day" in New York State, aligning with World Radio Day. It does not create new laws or affect policies; instead, it commemorates radio's historical and cultural significance through a ceremonial proclamation. The resolution highlights key milestones like Heinrich Hertz's discovery of radio waves and Edwin Armstrong's FM invention in Yonkers. The Governor would have the discretion to accept or reject this request, but the resolution itself has no binding effect. It directly involves the Governor and honors radio's role in communication and freedom.
