Maddy summaryThis bill would require medical assistance recipients to receive services from school-based health centers directly, rather than through managed care programs. The key provision ensures that these specific health services remain outside the managed care system and are provided independently. Although the bill passed the Senate, it was ultimately vetoed by the Governor and did not become law.
Maddy summaryThis bill designates November 26th of every year as Sojourner Truth Day in New York State. It achieves this by adding the new commemoration to the official list of state days of recognition found in the executive law. The change allows schools and other organizations to observe the day in honor of the abolitionist and women's rights activist.
Maddy summaryThis bill establishes a formal definition for "noncompliant state agencies" and creates a reporting system to track their progress in managing contracts with not-for-profit corporations. Under the new rules, an agency is considered noncompliant if it fails to submit renewal contracts to the attorney general within required timeframes or does not fully execute contracts before they start. Noncompliant agencies must submit monthly reports detailing their delays and corrective actions to the state comptroller, the legislature, and the affected not-for-profit organizations, with all reports made public on agency websites. Additionally, the bill clarifies that any written directives allowing services to begin before a contract is finalized must include a payment schedule and a warning that late payments will incur interest.
Maddy summaryThis bill expands Medicaid coverage to include remote ultrasound scans and remote fetal non-stress tests for pregnant individuals. The change allows these specific medical services to be performed by qualified practitioners using technology that does not require the patient to be physically present at a clinic. The legislation includes a condition that these services will only become active if the federal government agrees to share the associated costs. Additionally, the law clarifies that this expansion does not alter existing rules regarding medical licensing or the scope of practice for healthcare providers.

Maddy summaryThis bill authorizes the creation of a mobile application designed to provide prenatal and postpartum health information to individuals eligible for Medicaid in New York. The app will be developed through a competitive bidding process and will offer resources, education, and direct links to state programs in multiple languages. It includes provisions for regular, anonymous reporting on user engagement and usage statistics while strictly prohibiting the sharing of personal user data with government agencies. The application is intended to help expectant and new parents access New York-specific support services and information about Medicaid enrollment.
