Enacts the student journalist free speech act to protect student speech at educational institutions unless such speech is libelous, an invasion of privacy, or incites students to commit an unlawful act, violate school policies, or to materially and substantially disrupt the orderly operation of the school.
Directs the commissioner of education to establish a New York state model wellness policy which is in compliance with the local wellness policies required by the federal healthy, hunger-free kids act of 2010.
Prohibits any business from charging a price for goods on the basis of a person's gender; civil penalties.
Ensures that employees are automatically enrolled into the secure choice savings program and if they do not want to participate in the program, they must opt out.
Enacts the "hate crimes analysis and review act", specifying the collection and reporting of certain demographic data regarding the victims and alleged perpetrators of hate crimes.
Directs the state to appropriate general fund operating support to cover any increase in tuition credit.
Prohibits the use of biometric surveillance technology by law enforcement; establishes the biometric surveillance regulation task force; and provides for the expiration and repeal of certain provisions.
Provides that it shall be unlawful for any person to organize, sponsor, conduct, promote, or participate in any contest, competition, tournament or derby where the objective of such contest or competition is to take wildlife.
Clarifies that the SUNY health science centers are included in the maintenance of effort provision pursuant to chapter 260 of the laws of 2011.
Prohibits eviction without good cause.
