Enacts the NY privacy act to require companies to disclose their methods of de-identifying personal information, to place special safeguards around data sharing and to allow consumers to obtain the names of all entities with whom their information is shared.
Allows a district attorney to file a petition to seek the imposition of residency restrictions for certain sex offenders; allows a sex offender subject to a residency restriction to petition the court which imposed such restriction for an order terminating or modifying such residency restriction.
Allows inmates to make confidential phone calls to legal services providers or attorneys within the state at no charge to the inmate or the attorney.
Relates to expanding eligibility for shock incarceration, successful completion of such shall make such inmate eligible for release under certain conditions.
Enacts the shelter animal rescue act which requires the release of a shelter animal to a rescue group upon request of the rescue group prior to the euthanasia of such animal.
Establishes an amnesty and fine discount program for small businesses who were forced to shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic because of the inability to pay a fine or summons for a violation from certain departments or offices.
Relates to safe staffing for public employees of institutional settings by setting maximum overtime levels.
Relates to an increase in punishment for certain actions against on-duty auxiliary police officers such as criminally negligent homicide, assault or menacing of such officer.
Relates to the definition of a sex offense; provides that if luring a child or the attempt thereto requires an actor to register as a sex offender, then the act is determined to be a sex offense.
Relates to the discharging of certain sentences; makes all felonies eligible for discharge.
