Empowering Women in Small Business Act

Empowering Women in Small Business Act This bill permits certain women-owned small businesses to retain for seven years their certification under the Small Business Administration's Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contracting program even if the ownership interests in the small business are held by a licensed small business investment company that would otherwise reduce the ownership percentage below the threshold required for participation in the WOSB program.

A bill to provide a means for Congress to prevent an organization's designation as a foreign terrorist organization from being revoked by the Secretary of State.

This bill requires the Department of State to notify Congress at least 45 days before revoking a designation of an organization as a foreign terrorist organization. Congress may prohibit the revocation by enacting a joint resolution within 45 days of the State Department's notification.

STUDENT Act

Student Transparency for Understanding Decisions in Education Net Terms Act or the STUDENT Act This bill requires loan disclosure forms for federal student loans to include the total amount of interest that would be paid over the life of the loan based on a standard 10-year repayment plan.

A resolution supporting the transfer of aircraft and air defense systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This resolution expresses that the Senate encourages the President of the United States to support the transfer of aircraft, such as MiG-29s, and air defense systems to Ukraine; supports continued efforts by members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and other countries around the globe to identify additional aviation and air defense capabilities to transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine; and stands with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the people of Ukraine in their struggle against Russian aggression.

A bill to terminate certain waivers of sanctions with respect to Iran issued in connection with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, and for other purposes.

This bill revokes certain waivers of sanctions relating to Iran's nuclear activity, including for (1) the modernization or redesign of the Arak reactor, and (2) the preparation or modification of centrifuge cascades at the Fordow facility. The bill also prohibits the President from issuing a new waiver relating to such activities.

A resolution expressing the sense of the Senate condemning the Russian Federation, President Vladimir Putin, members of the Russian Security Council, the Russian Armed Forces, and Russian military commanders for committing atrocities, including alleged war crimes, against the people of Ukraine and others.

This resolution strongly condemns the ongoing violence, including war crimes and systematic human rights abuses, being carried out by Russia's military and its proxies at the direction of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It also encourages the U.S. government and partner nations to use their influence and vote in international organizations to hold those responsible for such crimes and abuses accountable.

The Watchdog Act

The Watchdog Act This bill establishes in the Executive Office of the President the Taxpayer Watchdog Office. The office shall (1) oversee the implementation of federal transparency laws (i.e., laws requiring disclosure of how federal funds are spent), (2) accept and review complaints about a failure of a federal agency to comply with a transparency law, (3) evaluate the compliance of federal agencies with such laws, (4) provide information on transparency to the public on a searchable public website, and (5) make annual reports to the public listing each federal transparency law and on the evaluation of federal agency compliance with such laws.

EPA Transparency Act of 2022

EPA Transparency Act of 2022 This bill requires the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), with respect to any major EPA-promulgated rule or rulemaking, to make publicly available an analysis of any environmental harm and any economic harm to small businesses.

STANDUP Act of 2021

Suicide Training and Awareness Nationally Delivered for Universal Prevention Act of 20 21 or the STANDUP Act of 2021 This bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), when awarding certain grants for priority mental-health needs, to give preference to state, tribal, and local educational agencies that plan to implement evidence-based suicide awareness and prevention training policies. HHS may also consider suicide rates in the applicable jurisdiction and other factors when awarding the grants. In addition, HHS must coordinate with the Department of Education and the Department of the Interior to provide educational agencies with best practices for these training policies.
