A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing Wednesday, February 16, 2022, as a day to honor the work and mission of the regions of the American Red Cross serving the state of Indiana.
Provides the following with regard to a township that fails to fix its budget, tax rate, and tax levy, or submit its estimated budget and other information to the department of local government finance's computer gateway: (1) The township's most recent annual tax levy continues for the ensuing budget year. (2) The township board must adopt and the township trustee must approve a resolution to continue the township's most recent annual appropriations for the ensuing budget year. (Current law provides that both levy and appropriations continue for the ensuing budget year without any action by the township board and trustee.) Provides that if a resolution is not adopted and approved, all appropriations during the ensuing budget year must be approved by the township board on a monthly basis.
Adopts the audiology and speech-language pathology interstate compact. Establishes requirements regarding: (1) speech-language pathology assistants; and (2) the supervision of speech-language pathology support personnel. Requires the speech-language pathology and audiology board to adopt rules not later than June 30, 2023. Makes conforming amendments.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION urging the Indiana General Assembly to recognize June as National Cytomegalovirus Awareness Month.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Frieda and Winifred Parker for their bravery and commending their dedication to equality.
To honor the retirement of Dr. Daniel Berner.
Requires the bureau of motor vehicles to report to the department of veterans' affairs not later than December 31 of each year certain information maintained in the bureau's data base regarding: (1) an individual's status as a veteran or surviving spouse of a veteran; and (2) indication of status on an individual's driver's license, permit, or identification card as a veteran's surviving spouse. Requires the veterans' affairs commission to provide a list to state and county agencies that interact with the public the following information: (1) Services available to veterans. (2) The names, telephone numbers, Internet web sites, and addresses of state agencies that offer services to veterans. (3) The names, telephone numbers, and addresses of other public and private entities that offer services to veterans.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION urging the general assembly to enact legislation for screening for cytomegalovirus (CMV) in all newborns.
Removes language concerning an affidavit from provisions concerning probable cause for battery and domestic battery. Requires a law enforcement officer to provide a victim who requests a protection order with the required forms and appropriate assistance in completing and filing the forms.
Establishes a domestic violence registry that contains a record of individuals convicted of a crime of domestic violence and individuals who are the subject of a protective order.
