Amends the Crime Victims Compensation Act. Provides that a crime victim or another person may be compensated for legal expenses and court costs related to the enforcement of the crime victim's rights.
Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. In the statute concerning stalking, defines "places a person under surveillance" to include tracking the person through any available technological means. Provides that a person also commits aggravated stalking when he or she commits stalking and causes severe and permanent disability, great bodily harm, or disfigurement. Makes this violation a Class 1 felony.
Amends the Counties Code. Adds a Division addressing general provisions. Provides that no person elected under this Article shall be eligible to hold office if he or she is a convicted felon.
Amends the Video Gaming Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Amends the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act. Provides that a registered cultivation center may not be located within 2,500 feet of the property line of a pre-existing playground. Provides that a dispensing organization may not be located within 1,000 feet of the property line of a pre-existing playground. Defines "playground".
Creates the Caregiver Advise, Record, and Enable Act. Provides that before a patient is discharged from a hospital and no later than 24 hours after a patient enters a hospital, the hospital shall provide the patient or the patient's legal guardian with the opportunity to designate a caregiver. Provides that the hospital shall document the patient's designation of a caregiver and shall provide instruction regarding after-care tasks to the caregiver. Requires the hospital to notify the patient's caregiver at least 4 hours before the patient is discharged. Authorizes the Department of Public Health to adopt rules relating to the implementation of the Act. Contains other provisions. Effective immediately.
