Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a driver qualifies for use of parking spaces reserved for persons with disabilities if his or her ability to walk is severely limited due to peripheral artery disease or if he or she cannot walk 200 feet without stopping to rest because of that condition. Effective immediately.
Amends the Township Code. Eliminates the requirement that Section 85-50, which authorizes any township board to formally request that the county board commence proceedings to repair, demolish, or enclose unsafe or abandoned buildings, applies only to requests made by the township before January 1, 2006 and related proceedings to implement or enforce Section 85-50. Effective immediately.
Amends the Counties Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning administration of oaths.
Amends the Emergency Telephone System Act. In a Section that requires any county or municipality that imposes a surcharge for the purpose of installing or improving a 9-1-1 emergency telephone system to establish an Emergency Telephone System Board, provides that, in the case of a surcharge imposed by a county with a population of less than 200,000 containing a municipality with a population of over 100,000 that represents at least 60% of the population of the county, the municipality shall provide for the manner of appointment of a majority of the members of the Board. Effective immediately.
Amends the Sanitary District Act of 1917. Provides that in any sanitary district with a 5-member board that (i) is located entirely within one county and (ii) includes a municipality whose population is (A) over 100,000 and (B) equal to at least 60% of the population of the county, 3 trustees must be appointed by the mayor of that municipality, with the advice and consent of the city council, and 2 trustees must be appointed by the chairman of the county board, with the advice and consent of the county board. Effective immediately.
