EMS-BLOOD & INFECTIOUS DISEASE

Amends the Hospital Licensing Act. Provides that a hospital must give notice to a private emergency medical services provider if a patient has a dangerous or infectious disease. Provides that to determine the diseases for which notification must be provided, the Department of Public Health shall utilize the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) list of potentially life-threatening infectious diseases (instead of establishing a list by regulation). Requires a hospital to attempt to provide verbal notice and shall provide written notice (instead of only written notice) regarding a patient. Requires a hospital to send a letter of notification no later than 48 hours (instead of 72 hours) following a confirmed diagnosis of a bloodborne communicable disease as provided by the CDC. Makes other changes. Effective immediately.

IL COM COL BD-EXEC DIRECTOR

Amends the Comprehensive Healthcare Workforce Planning Act, the Illinois Century Network Act, the School Code, and the Public Community College Act. Changes references from the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Illinois Community College Board to the Executive Director of the Illinois Community College Board. Makes technical corrections.

HEALTH ED-CPR/AED TRAINING REQ

Amends the Critical Health Problems and Comprehensive Health Education Act. Provides that training on how to properly administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation and how to use an automated external defibrillator shall be included as a basis for health education curricula in all secondary schools in this State and shall be a prerequisite to receiving a high school diploma. Effective July 1, 2014.

A-2 BOTTLENECK

Recognizes the A-2 crossing as a major bottleneck for passenger rail service, both for Metra and for Amtrak. Shows support for federal, State, and any private investments to eliminate the delays in the A-2 crossing and provide better Metra and Amtrak service for the residents of Illinois.
