Amends the Board of Higher Education Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning creation of the Board.
Amends the State Police Act. Provides that a requirement that a State Police applicant have certain collegiate educational requirements is deemed to be satisfied if the applicant has been honorably discharged and has an Afghan or Iraqi campaign medal awarded after September 11, 2001 by one of the United States armed forces. Effective immediately.
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Increases to $96 the annual registration fee for motor vehicles of the first division (excluding motorcycles, motor driven cycles, and pedalcycles), vehicles of the second division with a gross vehicle weight of 8,000 pounds or less, and motor homes, mini motor homes, truck campers, and van campers. Effective January 1, 2009.
Amends the Chicago Firefighter Article of the Illinois Pension Code. In provisions allowing a reduction in the amount the city would otherwise be required to contribute to the fund due to certain refunds and interest thereon, provides that no reduction shall be allowed for a fiscal year following a fiscal year in which the funded ratio of assets to liabilities is less than 70%. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement.
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning definitions in the Illinois Commercial Safety Towing Law.
