Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Makes a technical change in provisions concerning venue.
Designates the date of April 15, 2012 as A. Philip Randolph Day in the State of Illinois.
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary of State is empowered to and "shall" (rather than "may, in his discretion") furnish to an applicant vehicle or driver data on a computer tape, disk, other electronic format or computer processable medium, or printout at a fixed fee of $500, in advance, and require a further sufficient deposit based upon the Secretary's estimate of the total cost of the information requested and a charge of $50 for orders received per 1,000 units or part thereof identified or the actual cost, whichever is greater. Provides that the Secretary shall make vehicle and driver data available to commercial purchasers of driver and vehicle record databases, provided the commercial purchasers shall enter into a written agreement with the Secretary that includes disclosure of the commercial use of the information to be purchased.
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that if it is established that the renter or an authorized driver is not able to return the original keys to the vehicle (instead of "failed to exercise ordinary care while in possession of the vehicle"), damages for the loss of a rental vehicle due to theft shall be the actual and reasonable costs of the rental vehicle up to its fair market value.
Amends the Chicago Teacher Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Adds a pensioner member to the Board of Trustees and makes corresponding changes. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately.
Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that not more than 90 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act, the Illinois Commerce Commission shall direct the Office of Retail Market Development to update the consumer education materials for residential consumers and small business consumers. Provides that the Commission may form another working group to prepare and review the consumer education materials prior to their adoption by the Commission.
Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Creates the offense of providing false information to a law enforcement officer attempting to serve a protective order. Provides that a person commits the offense when he or she makes a false or misleading statement to a law enforcement officer attempting to serve a protective order and the person: (1) knows that the statement is false or misleading and (2) has the intent to mislead the officer as to the identity of the person, the whereabouts of the person, or the residence of the person the officer is attempting to serve, or to otherwise thwart the service of a protective order. Provides that a violation is a Class B misdemeanor for which the court, in addition to any other penalty, may impose a fine not to exceed $500. Effective immediately.
Amends the Gasoline Storage Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning volatile combustibles.
Amends the Counties Code, Township Code, and the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that the proper authorities of the county, township, or municipality where a nuisance is located may take measures to abate the nuisance, including but not limited to, hiring a contractor to fix the violation. The property owner of record where the nuisance is located shall reimburse the county, township, or municipality for expenses related to the abatement, and if the property owner does not pay the costs, the unpaid amount shall be placed on the property owner's property tax statement, to be collected by the county, township, or municipality.
