$ISBE-AUTISM PROGRAMS

HEALTH CARE-PATIENT SAFETY

Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Provides for the public release of individual profiles on persons licensed under the Act, including information relating to criminal charges, administrative disciplinary actions, and hospital privilege revocations. Provides that a physician may elect to include certain information in his or her profile. Provides that certain information collected for physician profiles is not confidential. Provides that, when collecting information or compiling reports intended to compare physicians, the Disciplinary Board shall require that only the most basic identifying information from mandatory reports may be used, and details about a patient or personal details about a physician that are not already a matter of public record through another source must not be released. Effective immediately.

DCFS-SERVICE PLANS-GOALS

Amends the Children and Family Services Act concerning family preservation services to children subject to certain juvenile court actions; enhanced family preservation services, including respite care; moneys received on behalf of children; and stipends to youth to support successful transition outcomes. Amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act concerning service plans for children subject to certain juvenile court actions. Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 concerning certain service plans; long-term foster care as a permanency goal; and compelling a child or parent to engage in or refrain from certain activities. Effective immediately.

PEN CD-CNTY CORRECTION OFFICER

Amends the Cook County Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Adds corrections officers with the County Department of Corrections and County probation officers who withdraw or retire after December 31, 2008 to provisions concerning annuities for members of the County Police Department. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately.

INC TX-PUBLIC LAWYERS

Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act. Creates a tax credit for individuals who are assistant state's attorneys, assistant attorneys general, assistant public defenders, assistant public guardians, or civil legal services attorneys. Provides that the amount of the credit is an amount equal to the interest paid on the taxpayer's student loan during that year. Provides that the credit may not reduce the taxpayer's liability to less than zero. Effective immediately.

MENU EDUC & LABELING ACT

Creates the Menu Education and Labeling Act of 2007. Requires restaurants and similar retail food establishments to post a sign informing their customers that certain foods on their menus may be high in calories, grams of saturated fat plus trans fat, and milligrams of sodium per serving, which has been known to cause diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure.

Amends the School Code. Provides that if a student must be transferred from one attendance center to another within a school district because the attendance center the student is currently attending exceeds its attendance capacity, then the attendance center the student is to be transferred to must not be an attendance center that is on the academic watch list. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective July 1, 2007.
