RELATING TO HOMELESSNESS.

Requires the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation to conduct a survey of available state-owned and state-managed housing units that could be used to provide affordable rental housing. Requires the Department of Human Services to convene a homeless summit. Appropriates funds for convening the homeless summit. (HB413 HD1)

RELATING TO ENERGY MODERNIZATION AT THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

Requires PUC to: (1) Study and determine a reasonable microgrid rate schedule, based on specified goals, that DOE may charge to users of its microgrid; (2) Study and determine a fair and reasonable amount that an electric utility company may assess DOE for using the electrical infrastructure of the electric utility company or any electricity produced by the electric utility company, if applicable; and (3) Establish oversight policies for any microgrid projects that DOE may establish that extend beyond lands and buildings owned and controlled by DOE. RELATING TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

Permits an employee to take family leave to seek safety, medical attention, or victim services related to domestic or sexual violence against the employee or the employee's minor child. Specifies certification and confidentiality requirements. (HB678 HD1)

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Creates and appropriates funds for Erin's Law Task Force to review policies, programs, and curricula for educating public school students about sexual abuse and sex trafficking prevention, and report recommendations for the establishment of a program to educate public school children on sexual abuse prevention through age appropriate curricula.

RELATING TO CIVIL RELIEF FOR STATE MILITARY FORCES.

Conforms Chapter 657D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, concerning civil relief for state military forces to the federal Servicemember's Civil Relief Act. Waives filing fees and court costs for a service member or other person seeking to enforce rights pursuant to Chapter 657D. (HB1526 HD2)
