Appropriates funds to the Department of Education to provide public school students with behavior analysis services. Requires the Department to seek any necessary approvals from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to amend the state medicaid plan to include applied behavior analysis services for eligible students who have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. Requires the Office of Enterprise Technology Services, in collaboration with the Department of Education, to establish a working group to study the Department of Education's information technology infrastructure, operations, and services. Establishes the members and duties of the working group.
Specifies that ten per cent of the moneys in the Hawaii tobacco settlement special fund shall be appropriated to the executive office on aging for purposes of the kupuna care program and the kupuna caregivers program. (SD1)
In a summary possession proceeding brought by a landlord against a holdover tenant: requires the court to address the complaint for summary possession during the first court appearance of the parties; prohibits a writ of possession from allowing the tenant more than fifteen days to vacate the premises; and specifies that the court shall expedite the proceeding so that the landlord is not unduly prejudiced by the delay.
Appropriates funds to establish one full-time equivalent position in the executive office on aging to coordinate the provision of public and private Alzheimer's disease and related dementia services and update the state plan on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. (SD1)
