RELATING TO SEARCH AND RESCUE.

Makes a person or entity liable for all or a portion of search or rescue expenses when the person or entity knowingly enters state, county, or private property, knowingly enters a hiking trail that is closed to the public, or violates applicable laws, provided that the closure is posted by sign, barricade, or other device that gives reasonable notice of the closure. Requires counties and the State Fire Council to adopt rules as necessary to pursue reimbursements.

RELATING TO CORRECTIONS.

Requires the Department of Public Safety to install digital cameras in all guard control rooms of any correctional center housing women. Appropriates funds. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD2)

RELATING TO BEACH PARK RESTORATION.

Appropriates funds for a grant-in-aid to the County of Hawaiʻi to hire an engineering firm to study, plan, assist, and conduct preliminary design and concept work for a two-phase project to restore the Kahaluu Beach Park in the County of Hawaiʻi. Conditions the appropriation on the County of Hawaiʻi contribution of matching funds. Effective 07/01/2050. (SD1)

RELATING TO COMPENSATION BENEFITS.

Requires compensation benefits for volunteer firefighters who are injured or killed in the line of duty to be determined based on equivalent firefighter pay based on years of service and rank, rather than on a rate of $18 per week.
