Require the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations to convene a Four-Day Workweek Task Force. Requires the taskforce to submit a report to the Legislature. Dissolves the taskforce on 6/30/25.
Requires the Hawaiʻi clean energy initiative program to design and implement a plan to increase jobs that strengthen emergency preparedness and climate resilience. Authorizes the use of the energy security special fund to advance the State's goals of strengthening emergency preparedness and climate mitigation.
Prohibits insurers from refusing to issue, refusing to renew, canceling, or establishing higher rates for a homeowners insurance policy or dwelling fire insurance policy based on the breed of any dog that is kept on the premises. Requires any pet animal found on the premises during an eviction to be given to the owner or taken in by an animal control agency. Limits the monetary amount of pet deposits and pet rent. Clarifies that a provision allowing a lien on an animal to secure payment for caring for or feeding the animal does not apply to pet animals.
Requires manufacturers of certain products and appliances to make available to any applicable product or appliance owners, service and repair facilities, and service dealers, on fair and reasonable terms, the documentation, parts, and tools used to diagnose, maintain, and repair the product or appliance.
Establishes registration and driver's licensing requirements for the operation of electric rickshaws.
Requires the Department of Education to implement a process to allow students to use preferred names to strengthen inclusivity in public schools.
Prohibits retailers from selling or offering for sale certain combustion engine-powered mopeds beginning 1/1/2026.
Relaxes the requirements for prescribing certain controlled substances as part of gender-affirming health care services. Expands the protections established under Act 2, SLH 2023, to include gender-affirming health care services. Clarifies jurisdiction under the Uniform Child-Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act for cases involving children who obtain gender-affirming health care services.
Requires all public high schools statewide to select not more than two students to represent the interests of students at the public high school and young people in the community on the neighborhood board or regional community advisory board where the public high school is located, if any. Authorizes students to serve as voting members. Provides that students may contribute to existing quorum. Establishes terms for selected students.
