RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.

Prohibits the use of polystyrene food and beverage containers in state-owned and state-run buildings and facilities beginning 1/1/2020. Requires that food and beverages be packed in compostable containers. Prohibits new contracts to purchase polystyrene food or beverage containers beginning 1/1/2018.

RELATING TO ELECTRIC VEHICLES.

Specifying that places of public accommodation with at least 100 parking spaces available for public use have at least one parking space designated for an electric vehicle per 100 parking spaces, subject to certain conditions. Removing the requirement allowing owners of multiple parking facilities to designate and electrify few parking spaces than required. Establishing notification requirements and fines for noncompliance. Establishing a task force to examine and make recommendations to expand electric vehicle parking spaces in public parking lots. RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.

Establishes disclosure and public notification requirements for outdoor application of pesticides in various sensitive areas or by large-scale, outdoor commercial agricultural operations. Establishes a pilot program that creates a vegetative buffer zone around five selected schools near a commercial agricultural production area. Effective July 31, 2150. (HB1571 HD1)

RELATING TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION.

Establishes an intervenor compensation program to provide compensation to intervenors who make a substantial contribution to a Public Utilities Commission proceeding that produces a positive result or savings for consumers. Appropriates funds. (HB805 HD1)

RELATING TO LABOR.

Requires employers of twenty-five or more food establishment workers to provide the workers with paid time off for illness, treatment, and preventive medical care of the worker and the worker's spouse, children, parents, and grandparents and for treatment arising from domestic violence or sexual assault. RELATING TO ELECTRICITY GENERATION.

Makes the use of customer self-supply facilities economically viable by requiring the Public Utilities Commission to develop standards and requirements to expedite the interconnection of qualifying customer self-supply facilities and allowing qualifying customers to select an applicable rate schedule.
