RELATING TO NURSE AIDES.

Adds dementia training and a passing score on an examination on that training as an option for the recertification of nurse aides working in state-licensed and state-certified health care settings other than medicare or medicaid certified nursing facilities.

RELATING TO GENERAL EXCISE TAX EXEMPTIONS.

Establishes a general excise tax exemption for the gross proceeds or income from the sale of groceries that are eligible under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and prescription drugs.

RELATING TO TAXATION.

Provides an income tax credit for wages paid by a technology business owner to employees who were formerly in the custody of the department of public safety. (SD1)

RELATING TO CHILD CARE.

Establishes a new child tax credit of $1,000 and changes percentages of costs for household and dependent care services that may be claimed as tax credits by families in certain income brackets. (SD1)

RELATING TO CLIMATE CHANGE.

Requires state agencies to require climate vulnerability assessments for permit applications for projects involving building, transportation, or land use change that may generate significant greenhouse gas emissions. Applies to permit applications filed after 12/31/2019.

RELATING TO THE HAWAII PENAL CODE.

Creates the offense of resisting an order to stop a motor vehicle under unauthorized control. Makes new offense a class B felony. Makes it a class B felony to exert unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
