Expands the pool of orthodontists who are eligible to perform medically necessary orthodontic services for treatment of certain orofacial anomalies covered by health insurance.
Establishes a grant program to assist lessees on Hawaiian home lands with cesspool upgrade, conversion, or connection costs. Establishes that a recipient of a cesspool upgrade grant shall not be eligible for the cesspool upgrade, conversion, or connection income tax credit and vice versa. Appropriates moneys for the grant program. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD2)
Requires any wireless communication antennas located within conservation districts to be camouflaged to blend in with the surrounding areas.
Requires the Department of Health to establish a working group to examine and advise on amendments that can be made to the statutory description of the Department's powers, duties, functions, and responsibilities. Authorizes the working group to evaluate the health impact assessment tool. Appropriates funds to support the activities of the working group. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD2)
Requires barber, beauty operator, and instructor licensees under the board of barbering and cosmetology to complete a one-time, one-hour training program on intimate partner violence awareness and education.
Allows the board of pharmacy to approve pilot and demonstration projects for innovative applications in the practice of pharmacy under certain conditions. (CD1)
Requires public meeting notices to include instructions regarding accommodations for persons with disabilities. Requires boards to post a notice in the board's office and to retain a copy of proof of filing the notice with the Lieutenant Governor's office or county clerk's office. Requires the Lieutenant Governor's office or the county clerk's office to timely post paper or electronic copies of all meeting notices in a central location in a public building. Requires an emergency meeting agenda to be filed with the Lieutenant Governor's office or the county clerk's office and posted in the board's office. (CD1)
Establishes a working group within the department of health to evaluate current behavioral health care and related systems and identify steps to promote effective integration to respond to and coordinate care for persons experiencing substance abuse, mental health conditions, and homelessness. Requires the Department of Human Services to implement an earned income disregard program as an intermediate step to implementing a medicaid buy-in program. Requires reports to the legislature. Takes effect upon approval by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. (CD1)
Requires a licensed psychiatrist or advanced practice registered nurse with prescriptive authority and psychiatric specialization to determine, prior to a person's discharge from a psychiatric facility, whether an assisted community treatment plan is indicated and to make certain arrangements if so indicated. Amends the criteria for assisted community treatment. (CD1)
