Establish within the Department of Human Services' Child Care Assistance Program, a Child Care Accreditation Program to support licensed or registered child care providers to obtain accreditation from a national early learning accrediting organization. Extends the deadline by which unaccredited service providers of the Preschool Open Doors Program must commence the accreditation process and obtain accreditation. Appropriate funds.
Amends certain publication procedures to require the publication of information to be on the appropriate state or county department's website, rather than in a newspaper.
Conforms statutory prohibitions against wage discrimination with other prohibitions on employment discrimination. Clarifies allowable justifications for compensation differentials and remedies for pay disparity. Requires employers to disclose wage ranges to employees and prospective employees. Exempts wage disclosure and discussion from the prohibitions on employer retaliation or discrimination if knowledge of the wages stems from human resources, payroll, or legal professional responsibilities in the workplace.
Establishes a task force to review and recommend specific actions to ensure that Hawaii's food imports are sourced, transported, stored, and distributed in compliance with the federal Food Safety Modernization Act, and develop specific recommendations to ensure that all foods and brands imported into Hawaii do not mislead or confuse the public.
Requires the department of health to provide respite care, paid for by the State, to operators of certain care homes.
Requires certain job listings to include an hourly rate or salary range. Takes effect 1/1/2024.
Requires state participation in the multistate Nurse Licensure Compact, which will allow a nurse who is licensed by a home state to practice under a multistate licensure privilege in each party state.
Prohibits pet dealers and retail pet stores in the State from selling, offering to sell, leasing, offering to lease, bartering, auctioning, or otherwise transferring ownership of any dog, cat, or rabbit. Effective 1/1/2024.
