Reduces the time requirement when a disbursing officer shall inform the employee of indebtedness. Reduces the minimum amount owed per pay period from $100 to $50 or 5% of the new employee's wages.
Establishes the Warehouse Worker Protection Act. Requires certain warehouse employers to provide written descriptions of quotas to employees and maintain records of quotas and employee work speed data. Protects employees from quotas that would prevent compliance with meal or rest periods or the use of bathroom facilities. Allows employees to request a written description of their quota and employee work speed data. Requires the Director of Labor and Industrial Relations to adopt rules to implement the provisions of the Act.
Requires the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands to consider all avenues and models that may satisfy the housing needs of native Hawaiian beneficiaries and facilitate the reduction of the waitlist, including compliance with the plan implemented in Act 279, Session Laws of Hawaiʻi 2022. (SD1)
Increases the income thresholds and credit amounts of the income tax credit for low-income household renters by using tax brackets individuals and different categories of households. Annually adjusts the income thresholds and credit amounts for inflation, based on the consumer price index. Applies to taxable years beginning after 12/31/2023. (SD1)
Requires the University of Hawaiʻi to submit to the Legislature annual reports of all university employees who performed work from a location outside of the State for more than sixty consecutive days during the applicable year no later than December 31 of that year. (SD1)
Authorizes the issuance of general obligation bonds for the Hawaiʻi Housing Finance and Development Corporation's and Hawaiʻi Public Housing Authority's projects to develop housing exclusively for qualified residents. (SD1)
Appropriates funds to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs for the retention of third party professionals with the necessary financial, accounting, and land inventory expertise to evaluate and address the completeness and accuracy of the public land trust information system, so that the Public Land Trust Working Group can complete its objectives pursuant to Act 226, Session Laws of 2022.
