RELATING TO CORRECTIONS.

Requires the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR) to establish a one-year pilot program to allow inmates incarcerated at the Women's Community Correctional Center to foster pets while incarcerated. Requires DCR to submit a report to the Legislature. Appropriates funds. Effective 7/1/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT.

Specifies the responsibilities of the Department of Law Enforcement's Sheriff Division regarding judicial and legislative security. Requires the Sheriff Division to pursue, obtain, and maintain accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. Effective 7/1/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO THE CONVENTION CENTER.

Exempts the Convention Center from certain requirements regarding concessions on public property. Authorizes the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority to sell or lease naming rights of the Hawaiʻi Convention Center Facility. Facilitates advertising and marketing in and on the Hawaiʻi Convention Center Facility. Effective 7/1/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Authorizes the Department of Health to require the Department of Education to report coronavirus disease 2019 potential outbreaks or other public health emergencies and related information in a manner most appropriate to public health and safety, as determined by the Department of Health. Repeals the requirement to publish the report on the Department of Education's website. Prohibits the Department of Health from requiring the Department of Education to provide personally identifiable information in any report pursuant to the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Authorizes the Department of Education to provide personally identifiable information only after it has determined that a health or safety emergency exists. Effective 7/1/3000. (HD1)
