RELATING TO TAXATION.

Establishes a GET exemption for all gross proceeds arising from medical services provided by qualified physicians to patients who receive Medicaid or Medicare benefits. Applies to taxable years beginning after 7/1/2050 and ending before 1/1/2022. (HD1)

RELATING TO HOMELESSNESS.

Establishes a 3-year homeless employment grant program that provides homeless individuals with work opportunities and connects them with service providers. RELATING TO SEXUAL HARASSMENT.

Requires employers that employee 50 or more employees to file regular reports with the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission (HCRC) on legal settlements regarding sexual harassment. Requires HCRC to publish the reports containing employers' legal settlements in an annual report that is accessible to the public. Effective 7/1/2050. (HD1)

RELATING TO JURY DUTY.

Lowers the age a person may claim an exemption from jury duty from eighty years of age or older to seventy-seven years of age or older. Takes effect on 7/1/2050. (HD1)

RELATING TO DOMESTIC ABUSE.

Limits the number of continuances a court may grant, absent good cause, for a show cause hearing in domestic abuse cases for temporary restraining orders. Takes effect on 7/1/2050. (HD1)

RELATING TO TAX RETURN PREPARERS.

Requires each tax return preparer to have a valid preparer tax identification number issued by the Internal Revenue Service and to furnish the preparer's tax identification number on any return or claim for refund if required by DOTAX. Establishes penalties for failure to comply. Authorizes Director of Taxation to file a claim to enjoin a tax return preparer for certain prohibited conduct. Provides that tax return preparers shall not be liable for penalties prior to January 1, 2021. Effective 7/1/2050. (HD1)
