RELATING TO TEACHER RENTAL HOUSING.

Authorizes HHFDC to assist DOE in developing housing projects for teachers and other school employees and contract or sponsor an experimental or demonstration housing project with any state department or agency. Appropriates funds for deposit into the dwelling unit revolving fund. Authorizes DOE to lease land and contract with private entities for the development, management, maintenance, or revitalization of housing for teachers and other school employees. Permits a private entity to lease housing to other eligible tenants if occupancy of the housing falls below a percentage threshold as determined by DOE. Effective 6/30/3000. (HD2)

RELATING TO SOCIAL WORK.

Requires the department of public safety, or its successor agency, in collaboration with the department of human services, to develop and establish a social work training program to assist nonviolent incarcerated individuals in the area of social work. Requires progress reports on the program to the legislature. Appropriates funds. Effective 6/30/3000. (HD2)

RELATING TO PAID SICK LEAVE.

Requires employers to provide a minimum amount of paid sick leave to employees and supplemental paid sick leave to employees under certain public health emergency conditions. Effective 6/30/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO CIVIC EDUCATION.

RELATING TO MEDIA LITERACY.

Authorizes school complexes to incorporate media literacy in its standards-based curriculum, including content that prevents negative impacts of misinformation, disinformation, digital discrimination, and online hate speech. RELATING TO SCHOOL CAMPUSES.

Establishes and appropriates moneys for a Maui campus housing pilot program, to be administered by the school facilities authority which shall make on-campus housing available to employees at Lahainaluna and Kulanihakoi high schools on the island of Maui. Requires the school facilities authority and department of education to submit reports to the Legislature. Effective 6/30/3000. (HD1)

RELATING TO CLEAN ENERGY.

Requires the clean energy initiative program to design, implement, and administer a plan to increase jobs aligned with the State's transition to a clean energy economy and strategies for evaluating and supporting a transition to a clean energy economy that advances social equity. Authorizes the use of the energy security special fund to create jobs that advance the State's goals of achieving greater energy security and adapting to climate change, expand workforce development and training programs for workers transitioning to a clean energy economy, and strengthen social equity in the adoption of clean energy technology. RELATING TO HEALTH.

Establishes permitting and education requirements for pharmacists performing certain diagnostic tests or tests waived pursuant to the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA). Expands the definition of "practice of pharmacy" to include the ordering and collection of specimens for certain diagnostic-related or CLIA-waived tests. Effective 6/30/3000. (HD2)
