Special Risk Class of the Florida Retirement System; Adding to the class certain employees of specified state hospitals and other facilities who spend a certain amount of time performing duties that involve contact with patients or inmates; declaring that the act fulfills an important state interest, etc.
Limitation of Actions Against Crisis Shelters; Citing this act as the “Florida Crisis Shelter Protection Act”; limiting civil liability for nonprofit organizations operating crisis shelters for certain persons, etc.
Tax Exemption for Diapers and Incontinence Products; Exempting the sale for human use of diapers, incontinence undergarments, incontinence pads, or incontinence liners from the sales and use tax, etc.
Child Welfare; Expanding the list of incidents or injuries that constitute harm to a child’s health or welfare; expanding the types of reports that the Department of Children and Families must refer to Child Protection Teams, etc.
Transfers of Firearms; Requiring transfers of firearms to be conducted through a licensed dealer; requiring deposit of the firearm with the licensed dealer under certain circumstances; providing for disposition of the firearm if the licensed dealer cannot legally complete the transaction or return the firearm to its owner; requiring law enforcement agencies to report to the Attorney General any violation by licensed dealers, etc.
Public Records/Buyer or Transferee/Ammunition; Providing an exemption from public records requirements for records containing certain information pertaining to a buyer or transferee who is not found to be prohibited from receipt or transfer of ammunition; providing for future legislative review and repeal of the exemption; providing a statement of public necessity, etc.
Sexual Battery; Requiring certain licensed facilities to provide to victims of sexual assault information regarding emergency contraception and its availability, if requested, etc.
Student Health Services; Citing this act as the "Learning with Dignity Act"; requiring school districts to make feminine hygiene products available, at no charge, in female restroom facilities of public school buildings, etc.
Public Records/Court Records; Exempting from public records requirements a respondent’s name in certain documents at trial and on appeal; expanding the exemption from public records requirements for certain petitions, court orders, and related records regarding persons with potential mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders to include certain examinations and applications; expanding exceptions authorizing the release or use of such applications, petitions, orders, records, and identifying information to include certain persons and entities; revising the date for future legislative review and repeal of the exemption; providing a statement of public necessity, etc.
Statute of Limitations for Sexual Offenses; Extending the statute of limitations period for civil actions for certain offenses; authorizing certain persons to bring causes of action that were previously barred for specified reasons, etc.
