Sexually Transmissible Diseases; Reduces degree of criminal penalty for certain persons infected with HIV & who donate blood, plasma, organs, skin, or other human tissue for use in another person; revises prohibitions relating to intentional transmission of certain diseases through sexual conduct; provides exceptions; revises penalties; revises requirements for HIV testing in cases involving criminal transmission of HIV.

Treatment and Care of Adult Patients with Sickle Cell Disease

Treatment and Care of Adult Patients with Sickle Cell Disease; Creates Sickle Cell Disease Task Force adjunct to DOH; provides for membership, meetings, & duties of task force; requires task force to submit report to Governor & Legislature by specified date; provides for future expiration; requires department, in consultation with task force, to develop & implement comprehensive training & continuing education requirements for certain health care providers; requires Florida Public Health Institute, Inc., in consultation with department, to include sickle cell disease as part of its health awareness campaigns.

Pregnant Women in Custody

Pregnant Women in Custody; Designates act "Ava's Law"; requires that every female arrested & not released on bond within 72 hours after arrest be administered pregnancy test within specified timeframe, upon her request; requires that, if pregnant woman is convicted of crime & sentenced to incarceration of any length, sentencing judge provide her opportunity to defer imposed sentence until specified time after delivery; authorizes sentencing judge to order pregnant woman to comply with certain terms & conditions during deferral; requires that woman be offered, & receive upon her request, specified services within 10 days after deferral ends; requires collection & reporting of specified information.
