This bill would recognize the month of June as Portuguese Heritage Month.

This measure would declare May 2010 to be American Stroke Month in California and would urge all Californians to familiarize themselves with the risk factors, and to recognize the warning signs and symptoms associated with stroke, to help reduce the devastating effects of stroke on the population.
This measure would designate April 2010 as Autism Awareness Month, would affirm the Legislature's commitment to the important issues related to autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) , would emphasize that each and every individual with an ASD is a valued and important member of our society, would recognize and commend the parents and relatives of individuals with ASDs for their sacrifice and dedication in providing for the special needs of individuals with ASDs, would recognize and commend the work of all nonprofit organizations that are contributing to the well-being of individuals with autism and their families, and would stress the need to identify children with ASDs and to begin early intervention services immediately after a child has been diagnosed with an ASD.
This measure would proclaim the month of April of each year as Genocide Awareness and Prevention Month.
This measure would proclaim the month of April 2010 as California Safe Digging Month.
This measure would recognize April 26, 2010, as California Healthy Schools Day, and would encourage schools and school districts to take proactive and preventative steps to create and maintain healthy school environments.
This measure would acknowledge the month of April 2010 as Child Abuse Prevention Month, and encourage the people of the State of California to work together to support youth-serving child abuse prevention activities in their communities and schools.
This measure would request that the Department of Transportation erect informational signs on State Highway Route 60 in the County of Los Angeles directing motorists to the Armenian Genocide Martyrs Monument, consistent with the signing requirements for the state highway system and upon receiving donations from nonstate sources sufficient to cover the cost to erect those signs.
This measure would designate April 24, 2010, as "California Day of Remembrance for the Armenian Genocide of 1915–1923." It would memorialize the Congress and the President of the United States to act likewise to commemorate the Armenian Genocide.
(1) Existing law establishes the Board of Parole Hearings in the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and grants it the power to establish rules and regulations under which persons committed to state prison may be allowed to go upon parole outside the prison buildings and enclosures when eligible for parole. Existing law grants the board the power to impose on the parole of a prisoner any conditions that it may deem proper. This bill would require the board, when granting parole to a prisoner, to inquire into whether the person is a member or associate of any prison gang or criminal street gang, as defined. If the person is a verified member or associate, this bill would require the board to impose a condition on the prisoner's parole prohibiting the prisoner from participating, promoting, furthering, or assisting in any gang, from associating with any gang member, from wearing any gang colors, signs, symbols, or paraphernalia associated with gang activity, and from violating any gang abatement injunction, ordinance, or court order. This bill would provide that a person is verified as a member or associate of a gang if the person is identified as being a member or associate of a gang by the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Department of Justice, or any local law enforcement agency. (2) Existing law establishes the Division of Adult Parole Operations within the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Under existing law the revocation of parole is determined by the Board of Parole Hearings. Existing law prohibits the department from reporting any parole violation to the board for certain parolees. This bill would require the division to report to the board any conduct on the part of a parolee that constitutes a serious or violent felony, any assaultive conduct resulting in serious injury to the victim, the possession of specified weapons or narcotics, violations of conditions of parole, and other conduct, as specified. This bill would require the division to report to the board any conduct on the part of a parolee who was committed to prison for a serious or violent felony any criminal conduct, including felonies, misdemeanors, or infractions, and any parole violations.
