Armenian Genocide: Day of Remembrance.

This measure would designate April 24, 2009, as "California Day of Remembrance for the Armenian Genocide of 1915–1923." It would memorialize the Congress and the President of the United States to act likewise to commemorate the Armenian Genocide.

Relative to education finance.

This measure would state the intent of the Legislature that the State of California generate sufficient funds for, and allocate sufficient funds to, education, so as to bring per-pupil spending up to or beyond the national average, and to a level that accounts for the actual cost of educating California's diverse pupil population.

Relative to HIV/AIDS health disparities.

Social Security: retirement benefits: public employees.

Relative to the Deputy Kent Hintergardt Memorial Highway.

This measure would designate a specified portion of State Highway Route 15 in Temecula as the Deputy Kent Hintergardt Memorial Highway. The measure would also request the Department of Transportation to determine the cost of appropriate signs showing this special designation and, upon receiving donations from nonstate sources covering those costs, to erect those signs.

Alzheimer's Silver Alert program.

This measure would urge the President and the Congress of the United States to act to establish a federally controlled Alzheimer's Silver Alert program to locate missing persons with dementia and establish a federal grant program to aid states in establishing local Silver Alert programs.
