This measure would designate that January 30, 2018, be observed as Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and the Constitution.

This measure would commend South Korea for hosting the XXIII Olympic Winter Games and the XII Paralympic Winter Games and offer wishes for a safe and successful Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Franchise Act of 1937 provides for the granting of franchises to provide certain utility services by the legislative body of a municipality. This bill would make a nonsubstantive revision to the provision naming the act.
Existing law requires county clerks of all courts of record to cooperate with the Judicial Council and to keep records and make reports to the council as specified. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.
Existing law, the Mello-Granlund Older Californians Act, establishes the California Department of Aging, and states the mission of the department to provide leadership to the area agencies on aging in developing systems of home- and community-based services that maintain individuals in their own homes or the least restrictive homelike environments. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to this provision.
Existing law authorizes county officials, with respect to any state or county highway within their respective jurisdictions and upon a resolution adopted by the respective county board of supervisors, to place and maintain, or cause to be placed and maintained, at or near the county line and at county expense, signs stating, or to add to their existing signs, the statement "Where We Honor Veterans." Existing law requires the approval of the Department of Transportation if those signs are on a state highway. This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to these provisions.
The California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority Act establishes the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority. The act authorizes the authority, until January 1, 2021, to provide financial assistance in the form of a sales and use tax exclusion for certain projects, with the purpose of promoting California-based manufacturing, California-based jobs, advanced manufacturing, the reduction of greenhouse gases, or the reduction in air and water pollution or energy consumption. The act prohibits the sales and use tax exclusions from exceeding $100,000,000 for each calendar year. This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to these provisions and would delete an obsolete provision.
Existing law establishes the State Department of Public Health within the California Health and Human Services Agency, and requires the appointment of a State Public Health Officer to serve as the director of the State Department of Public Health, as prescribed. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that provision.
