This measure would designate March 25 through March 31, 2012, as California Tsunami Awareness Week.
This measure would declare the week of March 12, 2012, through March 16, 2012, as Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week.
This measure would declare March 2012 to be Campus Safety Month, and would encourage citizens to visit the Internet Web site of the national nonprofit organization Security On Campus, Inc., to view public safety information about public and private colleges and universities.
This measure would recognize the month of February 2012 as American Heart Month in California and recognize February 3, 2012, as Wear Red Day in California.
Existing law provides for the registration of trademarks, trade names and designations, container and laundry-supply brands, and farm names. Existing law defines the scope of agency for these purposes. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to these provisions.
The California Technology Assistance Project is administered by the State Department of Education to provide a regionalized network of technical assistance to schools and school districts on the implementation of education technology. Existing law authorizes school districts, county offices of education, and state special schools to apply to the State Board of Education to participate in grant programs related to education technology, as specified. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to those provisions.
Existing law establishes various programs administered by the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission or the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority to provide financial assistance for the development and deployment of alternative energy and renewable energy technologies. This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation providing for incentives for the purchase of energy efficient materials manufactured in California.
Existing law requires the Secretary of the Health and Welfare Agency to establish an Office of Rural Health, or an alternative organizational structure, to serve as a key information and referral source to promote coordinated planning for the delivery of health services in rural California. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.
Existing law partially exempts from the taxes imposed by sales and use tax laws the gross receipts from the sale in this state of, and the storage, use, or other consumption in this state of, diesel fuel used in farming and food processing. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to this provision.
The Planning and Zoning Law provides that if a state or local agency requires a person to transfer to that agency an interest in real property to mitigate the environmental impact of a project or facility, that agency may authorize specified entities to hold title to and manage that interest in real property, as well as any accompanying funds, provided those entities meet specified requirements. Existing law requires any conservation easement created as a component of satisfying a local or state mitigation requirement to be perpetual in duration, as specified. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to this requirement.
