This measure would declare the week of June 4 to June 10, 2012, inclusive, to be Dropout Recovery Week, and would state the Legislature's intent to encourage the support of dropout recovery high schools with creative teaching strategies, alternative assessments, and adequate resources.

Existing law, the Outdoor Advertising Act, regulates the placement of outdoor advertising displays along highways. Certain exemptions from the regulations of the act are provided, including exemptions for certain on-premises advertising displays that advertise the business conducted, services rendered, or goods produced or sold on the property where the displays are located. This bill would provide an exemption from the regulations of the Outdoor Advertising Act for an advertising display located at Post Mile 31.51, 510 feet south of Magellan Road, on State Route 1, in the County of San Mateo, if certain conditions, including conditions relating to the size of the display, are satisfied. This bill would make legislative findings and declarations as to the necessity of a special statute for the County of San Mateo.
This measure would designate March 2012 as Irish American Heritage Month in California, and call upon the people of the state to observe Irish American Heritage Month with appropriate ceremonies, programs, and activities.
This measure would proclaim January 26, 2012, as India Republic Day, and would urge all Californians to join in celebrating India Republic Day.
This measure would proclaim January 13, 2011, as Korean-American Day.
This measure would declare February 6, 2012, as Ronald Reagan Day.
This measure would declare the month of May 2012 as Child Safety Awareness Month.
This measure would proclaim May 1 through May 7, 2012, as Cinco de Mayo Week, and would urge all Californians to join in celebrating Cinco de Mayo.
This measure recognizes April 15 to April 21, 2012, inclusive, as "Shaken Baby Syndrome Awareness Week."
This measure would recognize the Lunar New Year Celebration.
