This measure would, among other things, recognize the month of March 2024 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
Existing law imposes an additional term, and authorizes a trial court to impose a specified fine, upon a person who is convicted of a violation of, or of a conspiracy to violate, specified provisions of law with respect to a substance containing heroin, fentanyl, cocaine base, and cocaine, if the substance exceeds a specified weight. The bill would lower the weight requirements of that crime with regard to fentanyl. By expanding the scope of a crime, this bill would impose a state-mandated local program. The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement. This bill would provide that no reimbursement is required by this act for a specified reason.
This measure would designate March 14 of each year as California Utility Workers Appreciation Day.
This measure would proclaim March 11, 2024, as Special Olympics Day in California.
This measure would proclaim the month of September 2024 as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
This measure would acknowledge the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and express the Legislature's respect to Muslims across California and throughout the world on this occasion.
This measure would proclaim the week of March 3, 2024, to March 9, 2024, inclusive, as Women in Construction Week.
This measure would proclaim March 23, 2024, as California STEAM Robotics Day.
