This measure would proclaim the week of March 4, 2018, through March 10, 2018, inclusive, as Women in Construction Week.
The California Coastal Act of 1976 establishes the California Coastal Commission and prescribes the membership and functions and duties of the commission with regard to the regulation and protection of coastal resources. The act specifies that after a port master plan for the Port of Hueneme, Long Beach, Los Angeles, or San Diego Unified Port District located within the coastal zone, as provided, is certified by the commission, the permit authority of the commission is thereafter delegated to the appropriate port governing body, except as specified. Existing law requires certain cities and counties to incorporate the master plan in its local coastal program. This bill would additionally apply this port master plan provision to the Port of Newport Beach located within the coastal zone, except as provided. By imposing duties on local officials, this bill would impose a state-mandated local program. The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement. This bill would provide that, if the Commission on State Mandates determines that the bill contains costs mandated by the state, reimbursement for those costs shall be made pursuant to the statutory provisions noted above.
Existing law makes it unlawful for any person other than a licensee of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to sell, manufacture, or import alcoholic beverages in this state. This bill would provide that a license or permit is not needed for an art gallery, as defined, to provide wine and beer to patrons, for consumption on the gallery premises, subject to specified conditions, including that the price of the wine and beer is not included in the sales price of any piece of art or merchandise sold by the gallery.
This measure would designate March 2018 as Irish American Heritage Month in honor of the multitude of contributions that Irish Americans have made to the country and state.
This measure would recognize Nowrūz, the Persian New Year celebration.
This measure would resolve that the Legislature is proud to join the Girl Scouts of the USA in recognizing their 106th Anniversary.
This measure would declare the Legislature's support for the creation of a California Institute for Aerospace in southern California's Antelope Valley.
This measure would proclaim March 18 to March 24, 2018, as California Down Syndrome Awareness Week and March 21, 2018, as California Down Syndrome Day, and would encourage all Californians to support and participate in related activities.
