This measure would declare May 23, 2024, as GM1 Gangliosidosis Awareness Day in California.
Existing law establishes the State Air Resources Board as the state agency responsible for monitoring and regulating sources emitting greenhouse gases. The state board, in this capacity, administers the California Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project under which the agency issues a limited number of vouchers to incentivize the purchase and use of zero-emission commercial vehicles. This bill would require the state board to authorize a voucher issued under the program to be used for the acquisition of any zero-emission vehicle that meets specified requirements.
This measure would proclaim March 2024 as American Red Cross Month and would dedicate it to all those who continue to advance the noble legacy of the organization's founder. The measure would encourage all Californians to reach out, support the organization's humanitarian mission, and join in their commitment to care for people in need.

This measure would declare 2024 as the year to Coexist with Wildlife, California.
The California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 designates the State Air Resources Board as the state agency charged with monitoring and regulating sources of emissions of greenhouse gases. The act requires all state agencies to consider and implement strategies to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Existing law defines "greenhouse gases" for purposes of the act to include specified gases including methane. Existing law requires the state board to approve and begin implementing a comprehensive strategy to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants in the state, including to achieve a reduction in methane emissions of 40% below 2013 levels by 2030. This bill would additionally require state agencies to prioritize strategies to reduce methane emissions, including emissions from imported natural gas, where feasible and cost effective. The bill would also require the state board, the Public Utilities Commission, and other relevant agencies to timely consider programs, or changes to existing programs, to reduce methane emissions, including emissions from imported natural gas.
Existing law establishes the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development to, among other duties, serve the Governor as the lead entity for economic strategy and the marketing of California on issues relating to business development, private sector investment, and economic growth. Existing law imposes various requirements relating to the environmental review and governmental approval of certain types of projects, including renewable electricity generation projects. This bill would require the office, on or before January 1, 2026, to create and oversee a process for interagency coordination for all state and local agencies with known or likely environmental review or permitting jurisdiction relating to proposed renewable electrical generation facilities. The bill would request federal agencies with known or likely environmental review or permitting jurisdiction relating to proposed renewable electrical generation facilities to participate in the process.
