This measure would state that the Legislature recognizes May 2015 as Jewish American Heritage Month, encourages all Californians to participate in appropriate observances with activities that celebrate and commemorate Jewish American Heritage Month, and commends Jewish Americans for their notable accomplishments and outstanding service to the state and the nation.

This measure would recognize the importance of access to local parks, trails, open space, and facilities for the health and development of all Californians and would declare the month of July 2015 as "Parks Make Life Better!" Month.

This measure would honor the memory of Walt Disney and his lasting legacy of quality family entertainment, congratulate the Disneyland Resort and The Walt Disney Company on the 60th anniversary of Disneyland, the Diamond Celebration at "The Happiest Place on Earth," and declare June 1, 2015, as Disneyland Day.

This measure would declare the week of May 3, 2015, to May 9, 2015, inclusive, as Wildfire Awareness Week to raise public awareness and encourage all residents of California to be prepared for wildfires.

This measure would memorialize the President and the Congress of the United States to recognize the unique military value of California's defense installations and the disproportionate sacrifices California has endured in previous base realignment and closure (BRAC) rounds.

This measure would proclaim June 12, 2015, as Women Veterans' Day and urge all citizens to join in celebrating the many contributions of women to our military forces.

This measure would proclaim the week of May 17, 2015, to May 23, 2015, inclusive, as Emergency Medical Services Week.

The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requires a lead agency, as defined, to prepare, or cause to be prepared, and certify the completion of an environmental impact report on a project that it proposes to carry out or approve that may have a significant effect on the environment or to adopt a negative declaration if it finds that the project will not have that effect. The act also requires a lead agency to prepare a mitigated negative declaration for a project that may have a significant effect on the environment if revisions in the project would avoid or mitigate that effect and there is no substantial evidence that the project, as revised, would have a significant effect on the environment. This bill would exempt from the requirements of CEQA activities undertaken by a local agency in response to a drought that are necessary for water recycling projects that provide water for drinking and sanitation to specific individuals and communities.

This measure would designate Monday, May 4, 2015, as California Peace Officers' Memorial Day, and would urge all Californians to honor those individuals who have given their lives for our safety and express appreciation to those who continue to dedicate themselves to making California a safer place in which to live and raise our families.

This measure would designate the month of April 2015 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and would recognize April 29, 2015, as Denim Day California.
